A bowl of antique ornaments graces the center of my dining room table. So many happy memories are captured in the less than perfect balls and bells that hung on the Christmas trees of my childhood.
One of those memories is of the crèche on the table in the living room. Not a show piece, the nativity withstood the handling of five children. My brothers and sisters and I were constantly moving the sheep, cow, and donkey in and out of the tiny wooden shelter Daddy built.
Only as an adult have I fully understood the wonder of Jesus birth. The Creator of all things stepped into His own creation. He chose to be born as a baby and grow to adulthood surrounded by the creatures He gifted with the breath of life. He became one of us so that we might become one with Him.
Wishing you Peace and Joy and a child-like, wide-eyed Wonder as this Christmas season unfolds.
