Rescued With Love

Dogs. Cats. Vintage cars. You name it, someone is looking to bring it home and care for it.

Broken and discarded nativity figures are my favorite rescue. The angel with a broken wing. The camel without a nose. The shepherd that has lost his staff. They turn up at yard sales, thrift shops and church bazaars, abandoned because they are no longer perfect or wanted. I bring them home and place them in my nativity scene to be a part of my Christmas celebration.

Why would I want nine kings in my nativity? To remind me that everyone, even the most broken, are welcome to come and worship Christ. We are never too lost or damaged. He will never turn us away or toss us aside. He came to earth to rescue us! With mercy and love, He will mend our shattered lives if only we will let Him.

“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.”      John 3:17
