Summer and early morning walks on the beach go hand in hand for me. As we say goodbye to summer, come with me for one last stroll along the Rhode Island coastline. We’re walking along a piece of coastline only a mile or two east of where the SeaMount series is set. Breathe deeply. There’s a tang of salt in the air.

A calm morning.

A flock of sandpipers and one piping plover.

Blue shell crab.

Piping plovers – their nesting areas are protected.

Slipper shells clinging to a stone.

Wedding cake sand sculpture. Was there a wedding on the beach last night?

Huge horseshoe crab. He’s dead.

…but this one is very much alive and carrying freeloading slipper shells…

A foggy morning. A train of waves coming ashore.

Seaweed on the beach after a storm.

‘Summer cottages’ against the morning sky.

The blue of the Atlantic Ocean meets the blue of the sky.

Slack tide. Where the water coming in from the ocean meets the water leaving the salt pond.

A beach rose with a visiting bumblebee.

Wow! I didn’t know you were so handy with a camera! Beautiful photos that really capture the beauty of our little corner of Rhode Island…the place we grew up and the place we returned to to raise our families…
I have a PHD camera. ‘Push here, dummy’ 🙂 The morning light does wonders in making my photos look good. Thank you for leaving a comment.
Beautiful! So invutung. Good place to have an outdoor writers’ retreat! Let me know when to sign up!
Ugh- of course, that shouild be “inviting”.
🙂 Wouldn’t it just be lovely down there writing? Not sure my computer would survive the sand, though. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Looking forward to your next book.
Thank you, Joan. Into The Deep is with the editor. 🙂 And thanks so much for popping in and leaving a comment.
Lovely pictures! Glad you had a good summer.

Hi Debbie! Glad you ‘walked with me’. 🙂 Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed the photos.
Thanks for sharing the beautiful ocean and seaside photos. Anxiously awaiting your new book .
Thank you, Marcia. Into The Deep came back last night from the editor. Have some work to do before it goes up for sale. Watch for it to be available the first part of October. 🙂 Thanks so much for leaving a comment.
THANK YOU so much for the stroll along the beach! I can almost hear the roar of the waves! Love, Linda
Hi Linda! So happy you joined me. 🙂 Summer was beautiful this year. Thank goodness, I love the fall, too, so it’s not too hard to say goodbye. Thank you for popping in and leaving a comment. xo
Hey Anita!
Love the pics, I love taking pics as well! LOL PhD camera, I’ll have to tell my family that one!! I’m currently saving up for a slr digital camera, but most likely I’ll just leave it on auto 🙂 Looking forward to this second book! God bless you, I broke my heel last Oct. moving a fridge and I’ve never been so thankful I can walk and walk without pain! Thank you Jesus! Reading was a great pastime while I healed and I’ve probably read Out of the Wilderness maybe 3-4 times, thank you for sharing your gift of writing. God Bless you and your family 🙂
Oh Joan! Can’t imagine the pain of a broken heel. If my feet aren’t happy, I’m not happy! I purchase my shoes a smidge on the large size so there is no pinching or squeezing. Pinching and squeezing makes me grumpy. 🙂
I’m so happy you enjoyed Gray’s story and have reread it. (3-4 times- holy cow! 🙂 )
Watch here for the announcement of INTO THE DEEP’s availability. I’m looking at the first part of October. Yay!
Have a great day.
