Favorite Food: Milk Chocolate
Favorite Color: Red
Favorite Movie: Sound of Music
Best Adventure: A hot air balloon ride in Pagosa Springs, CO Old Roady and Son got smaller and smaller as I went up, up and away. Heights are not their thing.
Greatest Achievement: Raising my son who is diagnosed with PDD (Pervasive Developmental Disorder).
Favorite places visited: Sedona, AZ – The air feels different there. Some say it’s the vortexes in the area. I’m not sure I believe that, though I did go on a vortex tour and my camera stopped working. That was a little Twilight Zone-ish. Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia – Sitting in George Washington’s pew in the Bruton Parish Church made me giddy. I slid along the length of the pew so my bum would touch whichever spot he sat in, the whole time hoping I wouldn’t get sucked back in time. I’m not big on outhouses and small pox.
Places I’d like to visit: Other people’s attics and basements. Call me nosy, but what isn’t on display for the public to see is usually the most fun. Scrapbooks, love letters, old toys and furniture.
Favorite Bible verse: Jeremiah 29:11 ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ Through my son’s early years I clung to this promise daily. Over the years, I’ve adopted it for myself as well. God is in control and He is faithful.
Best advice received: Put it to a bigger background. Grandma Dinwoodie would say this when things weren’t going very well. It was a reminder that there was always someone in a worse situation.
I live in the Ocean State with my husband, son and spoiled Belgian Malinois. When I’m not writing, I enjoy reading, gardening, needlework, sewing and making cards. I hope to one day get all my photos into scrapbooks.
