Pumpkin Happy Thanksgiving Card

Several more pumpkins have appeared in my house since I posted about our love of all things pumpkin!

I’ve started to put together Thanksgiving cards, so in keeping with the pumpkin theme, I used my Cuttlebug Pumpkin Spice (37-1822) cut and emboss set. I trimmed off the leaf and vine and used just the pumpkin.

The green background is Core’dinations paper embossed with the Crafts Concepts Cottage Floral embossing folder then sanded. I stamped the inside with a Happy Thanksgiving stamp.

Earlier this month I read about an October Challenge to post every day. I’m not participating as a blogger, but I have found some great blogs that I’ll be sharing with you from time to time.

If you’ve enjoyed the Unlock Your Creativity posts I’ve been doing on Wednesdays, check out chatting at the sky. Emily is truly inspiring. Below are two of her posts that struck a cord with me. Enjoy!

Day 9: Be Impractical

D’vine Swirl and Flowers Card – Take 2

Last week I posted a card that flopped. I hated it but chose to post it anyway. I’ve used the same tools and made another card but changed the paper. I’m much happier with the results this time. Amazing how much the color and pattern on the paper can make or break a card. I used the BossKut 0692 Petite Flowers die and Cuttlebug’s D’vine Swirl embossing folder. The card is smaller than the one I made last week so I left the wording off the front.

Happy Birthday Card

Happy Birthday Card

The last four cards I created were sympathy cards, so it was a nice change to make a card for a happy occasion. I used the Stampin’ Up Cupcake punch and the Happy Birthday embossing folder from Crafts Too. (Darice has a very similar Happy Birthday folder). The paper is Core’dinations paper. After embossing the paper, I sanded it to expose the white core. I like the roughed up, fuzzy look. Considered adding sparkles, but decided I liked the simplicity instead.

Now I’m off to bake a birthday cake and then prepare a nice grilled steak dinner.

How are you spending your Memorial Day?
